This model is year old now and is an upgradation to its preceding model the A550. This model boasts enhanced features than that of its previous model launched sometime before it. It offers a 7.1 mega pixel image resolution to its 2.5-inch color LCD screen.

The main handy feature that stands out is the face-detection autofocus which allows the user to get the focus on the face of the image. This canon digital camera does so by surrounding brackets around the faces it has a focus on and allows the user to adjust the exposure and the lighting. This USP of the model was highlighted in their Ad campaign and it is also the best feature of the camera that works better than its other rival models.

The camera adopts a 4x zoom and captures detailed images thanks to its 7.1 mega pixel resolution. The receptiveness of the zoom is fast and at a click of a button. The start up of this digital camera is fast and it takes about a 1.6 sec delay between the shots. The continuous mode is a bit lethargic and manages about 1.3 frames per second. The other special features include Still frame sound caption recording, Creative Effects menu, Auto White balance including five preset white balance modes and custom white balance setting capability, DPOF (Digital Print Order Format) compatibility.

This canon digital camera weighs around 165 grams without the battery and is not very sleek but it does fit in bags and pockets. It is not for the people who look out for very sleek and slim models. It is a subcompact camera and is high on features. It can run on a pair of AA battery supply or rechargeable AA size Ni-MH or through its AC adapter kit. The batteries seem a better option for avoiding the carriage of the adapter and can also be used as a back-up power source.

This canon digital camera is available with a 16MB Multimedia Card but can also be upgraded with SD Memory Card, SDHC Memory Card. The LCD display takes the rear of the camera and provides better viewing of the images and videos. Priced reasonably it is a good bet for portable, user friendly, feature oriented users.

What is the best compact digital camera that is slim and stylish, easy to use, and versatile in uses?

I need a small camera that looks pretty but also takes decent pictures. I have a Canon Rebel but that camera is too big for daily use. I mainly want this small camera to use daily anywhere i go.

If I put my SD card into a new camera, will it erase all previous pics I have captured?

I bought a new camera a few days ago, and took the SD card from my old camera (with vacation pics on it, or so I thought) and put it into the new camera. Did I erase all pics by putting the old SD card into a new device? There are only a handful of pics on the card, from just playing with the new camera, but I thought it would keep all of the orig vacation pics/ anything captured on it, until removed. I appreciate all suggestions and answers. Thanks.

First of all, although I see this all the time, no one should be using memory cards for permanent data storage. If there are images that you wish to keep you should back them up at least to a computer hard drive. This way, if anything happens to the images on the SD card you still have backup.

Now to address your problem. Most newer cameras create a specific folder on the SD card for pictures for that camera. I am guessing that the brand of your old camera and the brand of your new camera is not the same. If that is the case the pictures you took on the old camera are in the folder for that camera and the pictures you took with the new camera are in the folder for the new camera. It is very possible that the cameras will only recognize the folder for that specific camera and that the only way to actually view the pictures would be to put them in the camera that took the pictures or from a card reader attached to your computer.
