IR filter for a photograph, old movie, old floppy or Kodak filter?
I made a small infrared camera conversion to a camera from Sony PS3 removing the IR filter and replace it with a little cutting disk, I hope to track the movement of touch table in the future with her. My problem is that my webcam is not picking up enough light, and when he does the quality is terrible and too poor for good tracking. Are there any suggestions other material, nobody knows if the movie ends are more transparent than IR disk, if I drop $ 5 - $ 10 for a Kodak IR filter, or if I should just stay with my current configuration. Some additional notes I made a conversion before IR with a Logitech shit, so it has less images per second of video quality much better. I use transparent paper with my camera, printer paper and I can not change camera drivers to see if another game gives me a better quality video. Suggestions? Thank you in advance!
The manufacture of IR filters are very well change for the filtering of light sources (and treated black leader and a trailer from film E-6 slides are the best of this lot in my opinion), but are not good enough for optical filtering of image sensors. Get a polyester or Lee Kodak gel filter, if you convert a point-and-shoot, you may need a glass filter and IR cut to cover the sensor on a DSLR for cover thickness can affect the focus of more critical with DSLR.
